Guests Travel By Horse

After the flash flood our guests, Dale and Courtney, of Bend, Ore., safely make it down the mountain - and their luggage, too!

Copan River Floods

After several weeks, if not months of rain, it finally happened. The river went over its bank and into the valley. What is normally nothing more than a big flowing creek, the river destroyed acres of corn not to mention the road leading up to the hacienda. Dinners and rooms have been canceled for the next two days. As you can tell by the photos, the level of the water dropped quickly.

Our sign just after the main bridge surrounded by water.

Destroyed corn.

Creek-like just got really big.

Motor taxi crossing the bridge with debris below.
